Ann Armstrong studied Fine Art at Glasgow School of Art from 1970-74, tutored by David Donaldson, Duncan Shanks and Leon Morrocco. Her work is inspired by travel and the subjects of her watercolour, oil paintings, pastels or drawings could be the grey subdued light of a Parisian street in winter, the blinding midday sun on the Nile, Mediterranean beaches or landscapes or a cloudy Scottish hillside, seeking the vibrant or subtle colours textures and natural patterns of her subject matter.
She has participated in many group exhibitions, including the Royal Society of Watercolour Artists, Royal Glasgow institute, Paisley Art Institute, Aspect drawing competition and many galleries in UK.
