“My paintings employ the use of unconventional techniques to evoke a highly charged atmosphere combining a variety of techniques gained over 15 years running The Manchester Etching Workshop and 3 years running the Two Rivers handmade paper mill. Printing, painting and mark making combine in the finished product.
For me the Scottish landscape is at it’s best when semi-dissolved in it’s vaporous climate. When one is alone in a place for an hour or two there comes a point when the spirit of the place starts to gently assert itself. This then overrides the more prosaic concerns of mere topography. Then follows an awareness of having become possessed by the place.”
